Accessibility

Accessibility means that Web sites are open to individuals regardless of their disabilities. ETSU endorses the attempts of the World Wide Web Consortium and the Center on Information Technology Accommodation, as stated in the WWW Acceptable Use Policy on ADA Compliance.

    Accessibility resources

  • W3C Web Accessibility Initiative The Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) pursues "the accessibility of the Web through five primary areas of work: technology, guidelines, tools, education and outreach, and research and development." In addition, W3C provides guidelines for site designers, authoring tools developers, and page authors as to how to make Web content accessible to the disabled.
  • The Center for Applied Special Technology (CAST) has a tool called Bobby that will help analyze your site's accessibility
